NEW WILLY-T ARRIVED

The William Thornton Floating Bar & Restaurant, commonly referred to as the Willy-T is one of the most iconic bars in the British Virgin Islands.  The floating bar was secured at a mooring ball in the Bight at Norman Island from 1989 until September 2017, when it was destroyed during Hurricane Irma. After being constructed in America, the new Willy T returned to the BVI on May 10th.

The owners decided to replace the original Willy T vessel with a new, bigger boat. The new boat will be almost identical with a restaurant section, a bar section and an upper deck, just a larger version. The Willy T is known for great food and memorable parties, water-ski shots, and temporary tattoos. We are glad she is back!

Upon their arrival, the government told them that the boat was not allowed to moor in their previous home of Norman Island anymore. After a few stressful days, the Willy T has found a new home – Great Harbour Peter Island!

BRANDYWINE ROOFTOP OPENS

THE ROOFTOP...  TAPAS WITH A VIEW

While their Brandywine Estate Restaurant is under construction, owners Regis and Claudine Bourdon decided not to sit still and opened a trendy restaurant and bar in the middle of Road Town on top of the Cutlass Tower Building. Lots of stairs to climb but worth the hike to this amazing rooftop restaurant. Since the restaurant opened a few days ago, it has been packed.

They offer a great lunch menu with a beautiful wine selection. For happy Hour and dinner, they are serving sharing platters, small plates and tapas. Open from Monday till Friday (11AM-11PM). They are closed on Saturday for lunch, but open for Saturday evening (5PM-11PM). Closed every Sunday.

10 REASONS TO CHARTER A CREWED YACHT

Crewed charter yacht vacations in the British Virgin Islands are gaining popularity every year, and for good reason! A crewed yacht charter is a vacation aboard a yacht with a live-aboard crew, who typically consist of a captain and chef/hostess but can have 1 or 2 more crew depending on the size of the yacht.

A crewed yacht offers a wide selection of amenities for guests’ use including a whole host of watertoys, snorkel gear, entertainment systems as well as books & games for those quieter moments. Full service is always on hand, whether you need a fresh towel, water-sports instruction or a delicious tropical fruit cocktail. No lines, no waiting, just a prompt friendly smile and whatever you could wish for. Your Captain will sail the yacht to all the beautiful and sometimes “secret” anchorages and makes sure your vacation is carefree. Your personal Gourmet Chef will create meals and snacks to your desires, your ocean view table is always the best in the house! An open bar means no hidden charges.

In this blog we give you 10 reasons why to consider a crewed all-inclusive charter for your next sailing vacation:
