Who are BVI Yacht Charters
BVI Yacht Charters is a privately-owned company that’s been thriving since 1995. We have a lot of experience that we put to good use to make sure you have the holiday of a lifetime.
12 yachts in our fleet are owned by BVI Yacht Charters, the rest are privately owned and managed by us. We know each yacht inside out and are constantly adding to and improving our fleet.
Much of our reputation is based around the quality and dedication of our team. First class customer service is our Golden Rule. It is so important to us that you have a smooth and relaxing vacation. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to look after you every step of the way.
From the beginning…
Through hard work, dedication and passion we have grown from our very modest beginnings to a fleet of 65 luxury yachts. Our staff has grown from 2 to 35 employees.

1995: BVI Bareboats becomes BVI Yacht Charters
In 1995, with the help of a Dutch sailing friend, current owner Arjan Stoof purchased BVI Bareboats. Soon after he changed the name to BVI Yacht Charters. This decision really paid off when Google began to dominate the world!
At that time the fleet consisted of ten older boats, along with an additional six operated under a management agreement for another charter company.

2006: Our own private marina in Port Purcell
In 2006 we outgrew our original BVI base in Village Cay Marina. Shortly thereafter, we moved into a modest facility, in our own private marina in Port Purcell on the Eastern side of Road Harbor.

2020: An all new base on Wickham’s Cay 2
In March of 2020 we upgraded again to an all new facility. The base was custom built from scratch, on Wickham’s Cay 2, right in the heart of Road Harbor.

The base offers air-conditioned washrooms with private showers for both men and women, fuel, water, free WIFI, ice, and a short walk from the largest supermarket in Tortola. We are just a two-minute dinghy ride from Village Cay in the heart of Road Town. Here you will find a selection of restaurants and bars at your convenience.
Bareboat charters are our focus, however we also offer all inclusive, fully crewed charters, and captain-only services.

We have a superb selection of 65 luxury catamarans and monohulls, which range from 30ft to 54ft. Our yachts always arrive in brand new condition and straight from the factory. We constantly update our fleet, meaning that almost all our yachts are between 1 and 5 years old. View our full fleet listing.

Impeccable maintenance
Virtually all our maintenance is done in house, by our very own mechanics, riggers, electricians, cleaners, washers – even divers. All our dock staff are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. They are all here to make sure your yacht is serviced and ready to go when you arrive.
You will have direct communication with our chief technician, to help you with any issues that pop up along the way. You can call directly with any questions, issues or problems you might have with the boat. We will be able to talk you through any issues over the phone 95% of the time.
On the rare occasion that we can’t resolve your issue via phone, we will send out our chase boat with a dedicated team of mechanics on board. What’s more, we have the fastest chase boat in the BVI! We even have a mechanic based out of Virgin Gorda who can reach you quickly up in the North Sound, if need be.
Our crew is available to you 24 hours a day in case of emergency. If you are calling during night time hours we do ask that it must be a true emergency, but it is good to know that we are here and willing to help should you need us.

When you book through us, you are not dealing with a third party based up in the U.S. or Europe, we are right here on site. Our office is based right on the dock of Ritter Marina in Road Town, Tortola.
Apart from allowing us to live and work in paradise, it places us smack-dab in the thick of the action. We all know the boats thoroughly, we see them all every day. Not only does this make us extremely on-the-ball when it comes to maintenance and to inquiries, our bookings team is able to answer any questions, no matter how specific or unique. We have sailed on all of them. Therefore, we know their layouts from memory and we also know all the little quirks. This also helps us to match you up with the right boat for your wants and needs.
We cater to you by offering provisioning services, water sport rentals, Wi-Fi units, fishing gear and much more.
