At BVI Yacht Charters we truly pride ourselves on the service we provide. We have built our reputation around the quality and dedication of our team. Our team have sailed extensively throughout the islands and have stayed at the anchorages and eaten in all the restaurants we recommend to you. We know all the hidden gems, the secrets and the pitfalls to watch out for. We can’t wait to share them with you!

Bill and Sarah Hirst
Founders of BVI Bareboats, 1973
BVIYC emerged in 1995 although it had been going under a different name since 1973 when Bill and Sarah Hirst first opened BVI Bareboats in Fort Burt, Road Town, Tortola.
Their first charter was a Pearson 300 named ‘Matchmaker’ although Bill said it should have been named ‘Moneymaker’ as the boat did 40 weeks of charter in its first year!

Arjan Stoof
Owner
In 1995, with the help of a Dutch sailing friend, current owner Arjan Stoof purchased BVI Bareboats and soon changed the name to BVI Yacht Charters, a decision that paid off when Google began to dominate the world!

Abbie
Charter Sales Manager
Abbie moved to the BVI in 2001 from the historic coastal town of Southampton in the UK. Swapping one sailing capital for another with warmer waters! Her first two years in the BVI were spent captaining the provisions boat ‘Deliverance’. Abbie joined BVI Yacht Charters in 2004 and as Charter Sales Manager, is on hand to ensure your booking is smooth from start to finish. When she’s not busy in the office, Abbie enjoys time with her young daughter, and tries to get out on the water as often as possible.

Cassie
Operations
Cassie oversees all operations at BVI Yacht Charters from the front desk and customer service, to the fleet management, yacht owner relations, new boat intake and quality control. Originally from the historical town of Bath, England, Cassie vacationed in the BVI many times and quickly came to love it. In 2008 she relocated permanently, joining BVI Yacht Charters, and starting out in customer service. That was just the beginning, and was the foundation for who she is today. She has a passion for the water and has learned to sail, snorkel, scuba dive and windsurf.

Customer service
Kelly went to school in Carrot Bay, Tortola, and has been raised in the BVI her whole life. Needless to say the BVI is home for Kelly. With a solid background in customer service, and many years experience in the charter industry, she is a great addition to our Customer Service team.
