October Newsletter from BVI Yacht Charters

Hello,

Our charter season has started again and our docks are buzzing! Above is a picture of our first charter guests enjoying our new Guest Welcome Area with orange canopies and picnic tables. A good area to meet other charter guests and share ideas, tips and itineraries.

We are supporting the Humane Society of the BVI and want to help all the dogs and cats in the Animal Shelter. Please read our blog and see how you can help too!

We are offering a huge 30% discounts for November charters and also have a beautiful new Saba 50 joining the fleet in November next year – a fantastic boat for large groups and families.

As always you can email [email protected] with any questions.

DONATE A TOWEL

It’s a well-known fact that the crew at BVI Yacht charters are Animal Lovers. We are no strangers to caring for our local four legged friends, offering them food, shelter, veterinary care and cuddles.

Nowadays, 3 BVIYC girls are dedicating lots of hours in helping our local BVI Animal Shelter, the Humane Society of the BVI, which is in desperate need of towels.

BRING A TOWEL, DONATE A TOWEL

It’s simple: Bring your beach towels with you, and leave them behind when you go home. A bucket is placed outside our office for you to drop them in. We will launder them and deliver them to the Animal Shelter.

A few towels would be fantastic and really would help out, but you can help more! Pet supplies are much cheaper in the USA, so maybe you can bring a few items with you in your luggage for the Puppies, Kittens, Dogs and Cats of the Animal Shelter. Anything is welcome! We are thinking about small dog or cat toys, treats, shampoo, collars, leashes, tick & flee medication, Heartguard, etc.

WHY "SLEEP-ABOARD"?

All our charters start at noon. We do understand it is not always easy to find flights or ferries arriving in the BVI that coincide with the start of your charter at noon. Many guests like to arrive the day before their charter to avoid delays on the day the charter start. Instead of staying in a hotel, we offer a sleep aboard option. By getting settled on your charter yacht the evening before, in general you can get an early start the next day.

Please note that we do not guarantee an early departure from docks (when very busy). Charter still officially starts at noon. For $75 per person, a minimum of $150, you can board your yacht the night before on or after 5PM.

So when you book your next charter with us, ask for a sleep aboard and start your charter on the right tack – stress-free and well-rested. You can find more information about our Joma Marina base here, with information of restaurants and supermarkets etc.

CREWED CHARTERS

A lot of the crewed yachts also offer sleep aboard the night before your charter, to make it easy for guests to arrive, unpack and settle in the night before. Costs vary per yacht, but in general the sleep-aboard will costs $150 – $200 per cabin with a 2 cabin minimum and includes boarding after 4 or 5 PM, a welcome drink and snacks upon arrival and breakfast the next day. Your dinner ashore is at your expense. A big advantage is that your charter will start the moment you wake up, instead of noon. Ask our Crewed Yacht Specialist Els about availability.

PIRATES RESTAURANT RE-OPENED!

(opens in a new tab)
The Bight at Norman Island is a favourite anchorage and is often the first stop on many itineraries. Pirates Bight Restaurant and Bar offers two unique bars and restaurants at the end of the Bight, with a beautiful calm white beach. After the storms last year, only the Pirates Club (The Pavilion) reopened very soon for the public and the main restaurant remained closed for renovations. Now also the main restaurant has reopened and is serving lunch and dinners 7 days a week.
