January Newsletter from BVI Yacht Charters

Hello,

Hope you enjoyed the holidays.

Our year ended very sadly with the sudden passing of our beloved colleague Chris Patandin, on December the 18th.  Chris, aka Mr T or Fat Man, has been a part of the BVIYC family for over 20 years and we miss him tremendously. We would like to thank everybody for their kind support and loving messages on Facebook. It is wonderful to know that he was loved and respected by so many friends, colleagues and guests all over the world.

We start this year with a fantastic special offer on our mid sized cats - more details below!  In this Newsletter we also include up to date info on restaurants and facilities in the BVIs anchorages, including the recent reopening of two old favourites and a video of a delivery from Annapolis.

As always you can email [email protected] with any questions.

Reventador is our new Jeanneau, Sun Odyssey 440 that arrived on our dock early November. Delivery crew Bruce and Kelly sailed her over from Annapolis. Watch this video to see how that passage went.

FOXY TABOO REOPENED

(opens in a new tab)

Foxy’s Taboo, which was completely destroyed during Hurricane Irma, is reopened.

A bit smaller then before, but with the same style, good service and good food! Foxy’s Taboo is the sister restaurant and bar to the legendary and original Foxy’s Tamarind Bar and it being run by Foxy’s daughter Justine. It is located in Diamond Cay, on the eastern end of the Jost Van Dyke.

Their reopening was done in grand style – with a big party on New Year’s Day. And it was a big party! More than 40 boats were docked on Taboo’s large concrete dock and lots of food and drinks was served all day with live entertainment

QUITO'S REOPENED

(opens in a new tab)

Another great restaurant that has reopened last month is Quito's in Cane Garden Bay.

One of the hardest hit areas in the BVI, it finally looks like Cane Garden Bay is truly getting back to its pre-Irma glory as the BVI’s hot spot. Quito’s offers daily performances of roots, rock and reggae by local bands and by owner and world-renown musician Quito Rymer. Quito’s is your place in the sun with something for everyone – sun, sand, good food and great music. Quito’s Gazebo sends One Love to all.
