We are hauled and ready...
Since lots of people ask us how we manage our vessels during the hurricane season, here's how we do it. All our boats are hauled and safely stored on the dry dock at Nanny Cay and Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor. Monohulls are stored in cradles and the cats are on chocks. We remove all sails, electronics, biminis and sprayhoods, cushions, and any other deck hardware. Everything is stored down below.We use this time to take care of all the yachts annual maintenance, deep cleaning, repairs, as well as other projects like decals and vinyls, which are better completed on dry land. With over 60 boats, this is no small task! When all the work is completed, we prepare to splash them all by the 15th of of October, in time for the start of the new season!
It’s never a bad time to whip up some rum popsicles! Dirty Pirate Popsicles are named after the Dirty Pirate drink – they’re your favorite rum and coke drink with a twist. You'll need 2 1/2 cups Coke, 1/3 cup Captain Morgan Spiced Rum & 1/3 cup Kahlua. Using a pitcher, mix everything together well, pour into your popsicle molds, freeze for about 2 hrs, and enjoy! The perfect end to a summer day. You're welcome.
The BVI currently has no active cases of COVID-19. We are slowly returning to normal internally, and our focus at BVI YC has turned to creating a safe environment in which to re-open. We will be making subtle changes to enable minimal physical contact, and maximum efficiency on departure from our docks, while we maintain the high standards of customer service that we have become known for. We are still waiting for the official word from the BVI government with regard to a reopening, but we remain optimistic to reopen as planned in October.
